Roundtable Gender Studies and Music Theory

I will be joining colleagues of the IEM for a roundtable discussion during a public international workgroup meeting on Gender Studies and Music Theory, held 24 and 25 June 2016 at the Kunstuniversität Graz. The session will be on Saturday 25 June at 11 a.m.

For our recent research proposals on algorithms and embodiment, we have been inspired by methodology developed by feminist theorists, including for example Karen Barad, N. Katherine Hayles or Donna Haraway. I am particularly interested in the question what an ‘algorithmic body’ could entail and how it could benefit from these theories.
