Grenzwerte - New Tape Project

In June and July I am working on an algorithmic tape piece that will appear on the next CD of the German Society for Electroacoustic Music (DEGEM), curated by Florian Hartlieb. “Grenzwerte” thematises the ideal notion of limiting values, things that lie in the distance and may only be approximated. The interesting aspect of drawing boundaries is not the possibility of arriving at this boundary but the production of trajectories heading towards it. In this piece, I am continuing my work on genetic programming of sound structures. What I’m interested in is the impurity or “reality” of the algorithm as an excess, a dance around the set target sound that is never conclusive.
